No account. No ads. No tracking SDKs.

1. Introduction

Float Clock is a productivity and timing utility for iPhone. It helps you keep a floating clock, countdown, focus timer, stopwatch, notes, documents, or selected media visible with Apple Picture in Picture and local app features.

This Privacy Policy explains how Float Clock handles information. The short version is simple: we do not require an account, we do not run advertising or tracking SDKs, and your timer/focus data is stored locally on your device.

No account required You can use the app without registration, login, phone number, or email address.
No developer cloud sync Timers, countdowns, focus sessions, and preferences are not uploaded to our servers.
No ads or tracking SDKs Float Clock does not include third-party advertising or cross-app tracking SDKs.
Apple handles purchases Optional Pro purchases are processed by Apple StoreKit. We do not receive your payment card details.

2. Information We Do Not Collect

Float Clock is designed as a local-first utility. We do not use the app to collect the following information for advertising, profiling, resale, or developer-side cloud storage:

  • Your name, phone number, email address, account password, or contact list.
  • Your timer names, countdown events, stopwatch laps, focus history, alarm labels, notes, or display text for developer-side storage.
  • Your selected photos, videos, imported documents, or media content for upload to our servers.
  • Precise location data.
  • Payment card numbers or full App Store billing details.
  • Advertising identifiers for cross-app tracking.

3. Information Stored On Your Device

To provide the app's features, Float Clock stores certain data locally on your device, such as through UserDefaults, local files, or Apple system storage mechanisms. This may include:

  • Timers, countdowns, stopwatch records, and focus sessions: names, durations, history, lap records, and related settings.
  • Floating clock and Picture in Picture preferences: display mode, countdown settings, text size, caption color, media playlist references, and similar preferences.
  • Notes and captions: text that you choose to pin in a Picture in Picture window.
  • Selected local media or documents: references to photos, videos, PDFs, or text files you choose for app features, when those features are used.
  • App preferences: onboarding completion, language, appearance, accent color, and notification preferences.
  • Local app usage counters: limited values such as launch counts or review prompt timing, used only to avoid showing prompts too often.

We do not remotely access this local data.

4. Permissions And Apple System Features

Notifications

If you allow notifications, Float Clock uses Apple UserNotifications to schedule local alerts for timers, countdowns, focus sessions, alarms, or reminders. Notification content is generated on your device. You can manage notification permission at any time in iOS Settings.

Picture in Picture

Picture in Picture is provided by Apple system frameworks. Float Clock renders the clock, countdown, timer, note, media, or document view locally and asks iOS to present it as a floating window when supported by the device and system version.

Photos And Videos

If you choose media features, the app may ask for Photos access so you can select images or videos for a Picture in Picture slideshow or related visual display. The selected media is used locally for the feature you choose. We do not upload your photo library or selected media to our servers.

Files And Documents

If you import PDF or text documents, the app uses Apple's document picker and local file access to display the selected document. Imported files remain on your device unless you delete them or remove the app.

Music Library And Custom Sounds

If you choose timer or alert sounds from your local media library, iOS may ask for permission. The selected sound is used locally for alerts. We do not receive your media library contents.

Microphone

If you use a feature that records a custom alert sound, the app may ask for microphone access. The recording is saved locally on your device for use as an alert sound. We do not upload the recording to our servers.

Widgets And App Groups

If you add widgets, the main app and widget extension may share limited local data through Apple's App Group container, such as summary information needed to display relevant app content. This shared container is local to your device and is not a developer cloud service.

Network Status Display

If a network status display is enabled, the app uses Apple system information to show connection status or approximate local network indicators on your device. We do not collect browsing history, installed app lists, or network traffic contents.

5. Purchases

Float Clock may offer an optional one-time Pro unlock. Purchases are processed by Apple through StoreKit. Apple may provide us with limited transaction and entitlement information required to unlock Pro features, restore purchases, support refunds, and comply with App Store rules. We do not receive your payment card number or Apple ID password.

6. Sharing, Reviews, And External Links

  • Sharing: If you use the iOS share sheet, you decide what to share and which app or contact receives it. Float Clock does not intercept the destination or content after it leaves the app through the system share sheet.
  • App Store reviews: If you choose to rate the app, iOS or the App Store may open Apple's review interface. Apple handles that interaction under Apple's policies.
  • Policy and terms links: Opening privacy or terms links may use Safari, an in-app browser, or another system component.

7. Third-Party SDKs, Ads, And Tracking

Float Clock does not include third-party advertising SDKs, third-party analytics SDKs, or cross-app tracking SDKs. We do not sell personal information and do not use your app activity for targeted advertising.

8. Data Retention And Deletion

Most app data is stored on your device for as long as you keep it in the app. You can delete timers, records, notes, imported content, and preferences from within the app where controls are provided. You can also remove the app from your device to delete the app and its local data, subject to standard iOS behavior for app containers, backups, widgets, and shared app group storage.

9. Children

Float Clock is a general productivity utility and is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

10. Security

Because Float Clock is local-first, your data is primarily protected by your device, iOS security, and your Apple account settings. Please keep your device passcode, Apple ID, and iCloud settings secure.

11. Changes To This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy when app features, App Store requirements, or legal requirements change. The latest version will be posted on this page with the effective date shown above.
