Keepsake Days Privacy Policy

Keepsake Days is privacy-first. Your events, love moments, message drafts, memory capsules, stories, and photos are stored on your device by default. We do not require an account and do not upload your content to our own servers. Data leaves your device only when you choose an optional online feature (such as iCloud Sync, In-App Purchase, optional analytics, or AI polish) as described below.

1. Introduction

Keepsake Days (the “App”) is a keepsake and anniversary manager. It helps you track important days with countdown and count-up, Home Screen widgets and Live Activities, love moments and share cards, message drafts and reminders, memory capsules, festival and event templates, optional iCloud sync, one-time Pro unlock, on-device voice input, optional AI polish, Face ID app lock, and local backup export/import.

This Privacy Policy explains how information related to you is handled. Please read it carefully before using the App. By continuing to use the App, you acknowledge this policy. If you do not agree, please stop using and uninstall the App.

2. Information We Process

The developer does not operate a backend that collects your content and does not require you to create an App account. The following information is used to provide features on your device:

• Events and content (on device): Events you create (title, notes, dates, category, repeat rules, reminders, milestones, pin status, background photos/colors, and related settings), love “together since” date and moments, memory capsules, event stories (notes and photos), message drafts (including recipient numbers and text you enter), nickname, and similar profile fields. These are stored locally (including the App sandbox and UserDefaults).
• App settings (on device): Appearance mode, onboarding completion, cloud sync toggle, Pro unlock status, Face ID lock preference, AI polish consent and daily usage counters, analytics consent, review prompt state, and last sync timestamps.
• Widget / Live Activity data (on device): Snapshot data may be shared between the main App and the widget extension via App Group (group.com.nickgao.date) so countdown information can appear on the Home Screen, Lock Screen, or Dynamic Island. This remains on your device in Apple’s shared container.
• Local backups (on device / files you export): If you export a backup (JSON/CSV), the file is created on your device (or shared via the system share sheet you choose). Restoring a backup replaces local data with the contents of the file you select.

We do not use the local content above for advertising profiles, cross-app tracking, or sale to third parties.

3. Optional Network Features You May Choose

The following features transmit data only when you actively use them. You can use the App offline for core local features without enabling them.

• Optional iCloud Sync: If you turn on cloud sync (typically a Pro feature), related data such as events, love moments, memory capsules, message drafts, nickname, and together-since date may sync through Apple CloudKit to the private database of the iCloud account signed in on your device (container: iCloud.com.nickgao.date). Apple processes this data under Apple’s terms and privacy policy. The developer does not operate a separate cloud account system for your files.
• In-App Purchases: One-time Pro unlocks are processed by Apple StoreKit / the App Store. Apple handles payment and billing. We do not collect bank card numbers or similar payment details. The App keeps unlock status locally and can restore purchases under your Apple ID.
• Optional analytics: After onboarding, you may choose whether to allow Umeng+ U-App analytics. If you allow it, the service may process device identifiers, advertising identifiers, and feature-usage events to help us understand how the App is used. We do not upload your event titles, dates, message content, photos, or memory capsule content to analytics. You may choose “Not Now,” in which case analytics is not initialized.
• Optional AI polish (Qwen / Alibaba Cloud Bailian): If you use AI polish for titles or notes, and after you consent, the text you choose to polish is sent to Alibaba Cloud Bailian (Qwen) solely to return a polished result. Speech recognition used for voice input stays on your device. Free users may have a daily limit; Pro may unlock higher usage as shown in the App. Do not include information you do not want processed by that service.
• System sharing and external links: When you share a card, rate the App, or open this privacy policy, the system share sheet, App Store, or Safari/browser may be used. Those experiences follow the rules of Apple or the destination site.

4. Message Drafts and System Messaging

• Drafts and reminders: You can write message drafts and set reminder dates. The App may send a local notification when the day arrives. The App cannot silently send SMS messages in the background.
• Sending messages: When you choose to send, the App opens the system Messages composer (MessageUI). The message is sent only after you confirm in the system UI. Carriers and Apple handle delivery. The developer does not send messages on your behalf and does not upload message content to our own servers.

5. Device Permissions

The App may request the following permissions or system capabilities, only for the related features. You can manage them in iOS Settings at any time:

• Notifications: Event reminders, milestone alerts, and message-draft reminders.
• Photos: Background images, story photos, and widget photos you choose.
• Microphone & Speech Recognition: Optional voice input for titles and notes (on-device speech recognition).
• Face ID / device authentication: Optional app lock when returning to the App.
• iCloud / CloudKit: Optional sync across your devices signed into the same iCloud account.
• System Messages UI: Compose and confirm messages you choose to send.
• Live Activities: Optional countdown/count-up on Lock Screen and Dynamic Island.

The App does not require continuous precise location or advertising tracking for its core features, and does not use your keepsake content for ad targeting.

6. Local Storage, Deletion, and Security

• Local data stays on your device. You can edit or delete records in the App. Uninstalling usually removes the App sandbox data.
• Clearing local data does not cancel purchases under your Apple ID; after reinstalling, you can usually Restore Purchases.
• If you enabled iCloud Sync, manage or delete cloud data in iCloud / system settings as needed.
• Protect your device unlock method. Risks from a lost or shared device, or from content you voluntarily share, export, or screenshot, are yours to manage.

7. Third-Party Services

When you use related features, the App may involve:

• Apple: App Store, StoreKit, optional iCloud/CloudKit, local notifications, share sheet, Messages UI, Face ID / LocalAuthentication, WidgetKit, and ActivityKit.
• Umeng+ U-App (optional): Initialized only if you allow analytics, for usage statistics.
• Alibaba Cloud Bailian / Qwen (optional): Used only when you consent and request AI polish of text you provide.

Third parties process data needed to provide their services under their own privacy policies. We do not sell your personal information. Aside from optional Umeng analytics and optional AI polish you choose, we do not add extra advertising or behavioral-tracking SDKs.

8. In-App Purchases

The App offers a one-time Pro unlock (not an auto-renewing subscription). Benefits may include iCloud sync, watermark-free share cards, custom photo backgrounds, unlimited AI polish, Live Activities, and other features shown in the App. Purchases, refunds, and billing are handled by Apple. You can review purchase history in your Apple ID settings or request a refund under Apple’s rules. The developer does not store your full payment credentials for identity tracking.

9. Children’s Privacy

The App is a general-audience keepsake tool and is not directed at children for the purpose of collecting personal information. If you are a minor, please use the App with a parent or guardian’s guidance, and do not submit sensitive information unrelated to the App’s features.

10. Your Choices

• Access and manage: View, edit, or delete events and related content in the App.
• Revoke permissions: Disable notifications, photos, microphone, speech, Face ID, or iCloud in system settings.
• Limit network use: Leave cloud sync, analytics, AI polish, purchases, and external links unused to keep more data on-device only.

11. Policy Updates

We may update this policy when features or legal requirements change. The updated version will be posted on this page with a new effective date. For material changes, we may provide a reasonable in-app notice. Continued use after an update means you accept the revised policy.

13. Disclaimer

• Reminders and countdown/count-up depend on device time, notification permission, and rules you set. Please double-check important dates yourself.
• Messages are sent only after you confirm in the system UI. The developer is not responsible if a message is not sent due to carrier/system limits or because you did not confirm.
• This policy applies only to Keepsake Days. Third-party websites or services you open separately follow their own privacy practices.

This Privacy Policy is written to describe Keepsake Days honestly for App Store privacy requirements: core records stay on device by default; optional online features are disclosed and used only when you choose them.
