1. Introduction

Float Clock is an iPhone productivity app for floating clocks, Picture-in-Picture timers, countdowns, focus sessions, stopwatches, important days, notes, media, and document tools.

This Privacy Policy explains how Float Clock handles information. In short: we do not require an account, we do not include advertising or tracking SDKs, and your timer, focus, note, and preference data stay on your device.

No account required You can use Float Clock without registering, logging in, or providing a phone number or email.
No developer cloud sync Timers, countdowns, focus history, important days, notes, and preferences are not uploaded to our servers.
No ads or tracking SDKs Float Clock does not include third-party advertising, analytics, or cross-app tracking SDKs.
Purchases handled by Apple Optional one-time Pro unlock is processed by Apple StoreKit. We never receive your payment card details.

2. Information We Do Not Collect

Float Clock is designed as a local-first tool. We do not collect the following for advertising, profiling, resale, or developer-operated cloud storage:

  • Name, phone number, email address, account credentials, or contacts.
  • Timer names, countdown activities, stopwatch laps, focus history, important-day titles, alarm labels, notes, or display text for storage on our servers.
  • Photos, videos, imported documents, or other media you select, for upload to our servers.
  • Precise location.
  • Payment card numbers or full App Store billing details.
  • Advertising identifiers used for cross-app tracking.

3. Information Stored on Your Device

To provide app features, Float Clock may store data locally using UserDefaults, local files, App Group storage, or other Apple system storage mechanisms. This may include:

  • Timers, countdowns, stopwatches, and focus sessions: names, durations, history, laps, templates, and related settings.
  • Important days: titles, target dates, and reminder preferences you create.
  • Floating clock and Picture-in-Picture preferences: display modes, countdown settings, text size, caption colors, wallpaper or media references, and similar options.
  • Notes and captions: text you choose to keep visible in a Picture-in-Picture window.
  • Selected local media or documents: references to photos, videos, PDFs, or text files when you use media, wallpaper, or document features.
  • App preferences: onboarding state, appearance, accent color, notification preferences, and free-trial usage counters.
  • Limited local usage counters: such as launch count or review-prompt timing, used only to avoid asking too often.

We do not remotely access this on-device data.

4. Permissions and Apple System Features

Notifications

If you allow notifications, Float Clock uses Apple UserNotifications to schedule local reminders for timers, countdowns, focus sessions, important days, alarms, or other reminders. Notification content is generated on device. You can manage notification permission in iOS Settings at any time.

Picture in Picture

Picture in Picture is provided by Apple system frameworks. Float Clock renders clocks, countdowns, timers, notes, media, or documents on device and, when supported by your device and iOS version, requests iOS to present them in a floating window.

Photos and Videos

If you use media or wallpaper features, the app may request Photos access so you can choose images or videos for Picture-in-Picture display. Selected media are used only on device for the features you choose. We do not upload your photo library or selected media to our servers.

Files and Documents

If you import a PDF or text document, the app uses Apple document pickers and local file access to display the selected file. Imported files remain on your device unless you delete them or remove the app.

Media Library and Custom Sounds

If you choose a local media-library sound for a timer or reminder, iOS may request media library permission. Selected sounds are used only on device for reminders. We do not upload your media library contents.

Microphone

If you record a custom local reminder sound, the app may request microphone permission. Recordings are stored on device as reminder sounds. We do not upload recordings to our servers.

Widgets, App Groups, and Live Activities

If you add a widget or use related system surfaces, the main app and extensions may share limited local data through an Apple App Group container, such as summary information needed for display. That shared container is on your device and is not a developer cloud service. Where Live Activities are supported, related display state may also remain on device.

Background Audio

Float Clock may use background audio capabilities so timers, focus sessions, or reminders can continue to behave reliably while the app is not in the foreground. Audio processing for these features happens on device.

Network Status Display

If you enable network status display, the app uses Apple system path information to show connection state on device. We do not collect browsing history, installed app lists, or network traffic contents.

In-App Purchases

Restoring or completing a purchase may require a network connection to Apple. Purchase verification is handled by Apple StoreKit.

5. Purchases

Float Clock may offer an optional one-time non-consumable Pro unlock. Purchases are processed by Apple through StoreKit. Apple may provide us with limited transaction and entitlement information needed to unlock Pro features, restore purchases, support refunds, and comply with App Store rules. We do not receive your payment card number or Apple ID password.

Pro is a one-time unlock, not a subscription. Final price and availability are shown by the App Store for your region.

6. Sharing, Ratings, and External Links

  • Sharing: If you use the iOS share sheet, you choose what to share and with whom. Once content leaves the app through the system share sheet, Float Clock does not control the destination or content.
  • App Store ratings: If you choose to rate the app, iOS or the App Store may open Apple’s rating interface, which is handled under Apple’s policies.
  • Policy and terms links: Opening privacy or terms links may use Safari, an in-app browser, or another system component.

7. Third-Party SDKs, Advertising, and Tracking

Float Clock does not include third-party advertising SDKs, third-party analytics SDKs, or cross-app tracking SDKs. We do not sell personal information and do not use your app activity for targeted advertising.

Our App Privacy Nutrition Label reflects that we do not track users and do not collect personal data types on our own servers.

8. Data Retention and Deletion

Most app data remains on your device for as long as you keep it in the app. You can delete timers, records, notes, imported content, and preferences using controls provided in the app. You can also delete the app from your device to remove the app and its local data, subject to normal iOS behavior for app containers, backups, widgets, and shared App Group storage.

9. Children

Float Clock is a general productivity tool and is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

10. Security

Because Float Clock is local-first, your data is primarily protected by your device, iOS security, and your Apple account settings. Please keep your device passcode, Apple ID, and iCloud settings secure.

11. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy when app features, App Store requirements, or legal requirements change. The latest version will be posted on this page with the effective date shown above.
