Short version: NetClash processes network test data on your device.
We do not require an account. We do not sell your data. We do not use advertising, tracking, or third-party analytics SDKs. Network requests happen only when you start a test or diagnostic.
NetClash is an iOS network utility for speed tests, latency checks, connection diagnostics, traceroute, DNS lookup, bufferbloat testing, reliability monitoring, and optional home-network device inspection. This Privacy Policy explains how the app handles information for users in the United States, Europe, and other regions where the app is available.
1. Who we are
NetClash is provided by the independent developer of Bundle ID com.nickgao.clash (the “Developer”, “we”, or “us”). We do not operate a user account system for this app and do not run developer-owned backend servers that store your test results.

2. Information processed on your device
Depending on the features you use, NetClash may process the following information locally:
- Network measurements: download and upload throughput, latency, jitter, packet loss, bufferbloat results, traceroute hops, DNS lookup results, reachability checks, and related timestamps.
- Connection details: connection type (Wi-Fi, cellular, or other), local IP address, public IP address when looked up, Wi-Fi network name when available, carrier name when available, and selected test server or ping target.
- Home network discovery (optional): discovered local IP addresses, advertised device names or hostnames, Bonjour or UPnP/SSDP services, user-entered device names, trusted-device marks, custom IPv4 ranges, and user-entered MAC addresses used only for Wake-on-LAN.
- Device status in Tools (optional): basic device model and system information, battery level, storage usage, CPU and memory status shown on screen.
- App preferences: onboarding state, selected servers or targets, free speed-test usage count, and a local cache of Pro purchase status.
- Reports you create: images or shareable summaries generated from your results when you choose Share or Save.
These details are used to show results to you inside the app. They are not uploaded to Developer servers. If you share a report through the iOS share sheet, the content you choose to share leaves the device under the rules of the destination you select.
3. Network requests to third-party endpoints
When you start a speed test, public IP lookup, DNS lookup, ping, traceroute, connection rescue, reliability monitor session, bufferbloat test, port check, or similar diagnostic, your device sends technical requests to the relevant public test or network-service endpoints selected by the app. Those providers may process standard technical logs such as IP address, timing, and request metadata under their own privacy policies. We do not control those third-party logs.
Reliability monitoring runs only while its screen remains open. NetClash does not provide continuous background monitoring of your connection.
4. App permissions
- Local Network: used when you open Home Network Inspector or start local-network operations such as device or service discovery, LAN port checks, or Wake-on-LAN. The app scans only the Wi-Fi, VPN, or user-entered IPv4 range you choose. It does not read MAC addresses from iOS; Wake-on-LAN uses a MAC address only after you enter or save it and tap Wake.
- Location (When In Use): requested only because iOS may require it to display the current Wi-Fi network name. NetClash does not use location to track your movements and does not build a location history.
- Photo Library (Add Only): used only if you choose to save a generated report image to Photos.
You can change or revoke these permissions in iOS Settings at any time.
5. Local storage and retention
Speed-test history, settings, custom ping targets, free-test counts, purchase-state cache, and home-network labels you create are stored locally on your device. We do not retain that data on Developer servers. You can clear test history in the app where available, or delete the app to remove local app data.
6. In-app purchases
NetClash Pro is an optional one-time, non-consumable in-app purchase handled by Apple StoreKit. It may unlock features such as Home Network Inspector, longer reliability sessions, ISP evidence reports, unlimited speed tests, result sharing, and advanced tools. Apple processes payment, taxes, refunds, and transaction records. We do not receive your full payment card details.
7. Sharing, selling, advertising, and tracking
- We do not sell personal information.
- We do not share personal information with advertisers or analytics providers.
- We do not use third-party advertising SDKs, tracking SDKs, or third-party analytics SDKs.
- We do not use the App Tracking Transparency framework to track you across other companies’ apps or websites.
The only network communication with third parties described in this policy is the technical traffic needed to perform a feature you start, plus Apple’s systems for distribution and in-app purchases.
8. Children
NetClash is not directed to children under 13, or the minimum age required in your country. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
9. International users and your rights
Depending on where you live, including the EEA, UK, and certain US states, you may have rights to request access to, correction of, deletion of, or information about personal data. Because NetClash does not operate user accounts or collect app data on Developer servers, most information is controlled directly on your device. For privacy requests, contact the email below. We will respond within a reasonable time as required by applicable law.
10. Security
We design NetClash to keep test data on-device by default and to request sensitive permissions only for optional features. No method of electronic storage or transmission is completely secure. Please use the app only on networks you are authorized to test.
11. Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy when the app or legal requirements change. The latest version will be posted at this URL with an updated effective date. Continued use of the app after an update means you accept the revised policy.
