Effective date: July 9, 2026
In short: Doc Copy processes your documents on your device.
We do not collect, upload, sell, or share your ID photos, passport images, PDFs, or other document content. We do not use advertising SDKs, analytics SDKs, or cross-app tracking.
Doc Copy ("the App") is a document utility for iPhone and iPad. It helps you create ID and document copies, run guided workflow packs for common paperwork, capture pages into PDFs, and use lightweight PDF tools such as merge, split, reorder, extract, signature, watermark, and password protection.
The App is a personal productivity tool. It does not provide official government services and does not guarantee that any exported copy or PDF will be accepted by a landlord, bank, school, insurer, employer, or government agency. Always confirm requirements with the recipient before you submit.
1. Who We Are
The App is published under the name Doc Copy with bundle identifier com.nickgao.fuyinen. For privacy questions, see Section 15 (Contact).
2. Information We Collect
We do not collect personal data through the App. The App does not require an account, sign-in, email registration, or phone number to operate.
We do not operate developer-controlled servers that receive your ID photos, passport pages, insurance cards, scanned pages, PDF files, signatures, workflow-pack exports, or edit history for processing, storage, advertising, analytics, or model training.
3. Documents, Photos, and PDF Content
When you capture, import, or select an image or PDF, the App uses that content only to provide the feature you requested, such as:
- ID, passport, license, insurance card, and other document copy layouts
- guided workflow packs for rental, banking, enrollment, vehicle, healthcare, and travel paperwork
- camera to PDF capture and photo import to PDF
- auto crop, perspective correction, and page composition
- PDF merge, split, reorder, extract, pages to images, and long-image stitching
- signature, watermark, and password encryption
- preview, print, share, and export to Files or Photos when you choose
Because these files may contain highly sensitive personal information, you control where they are saved and shared. Exported files are stored only when you choose to save, share, or print them.
4. On-Device Document Detection
The App uses Apple on-device frameworks such as Vision and Core Image to temporarily detect document edges, rectangles, and page boundaries in memory. This helps with auto crop, perspective correction, and ID card framing.
- Detection runs entirely on your device.
- Results are used only for the current capture or edit session.
- They are not uploaded to developer servers.
- They are not used to identify you personally.
- They are not stored as biometric templates or face profiles.
- Temporary detection data is discarded after processing unless you save the final output.
The App does not collect or store face data. Document detection focuses on page and card boundaries, not facial recognition.
5. App Permissions
The App requests system permissions only when needed:
- Camera: to capture documents, ID cards, and pages for copy layouts and PDF creation.
- Photos (read): to import images from your library for document copy, PDF tools, and workflow packs.
- Photos (add/save): to save exported images or documents to your library when you ask.
The App does not request microphone access. You can deny or revoke permissions at any time in iOS Settings. Some features will not work without the relevant permission.
6. Local Storage on Your Device
The App may store the following information locally on your device:
- app settings and preferences such as language and theme
- onboarding completion and free-trial export count
- document copy history and camera-to-PDF document library entries
- PDF files you import or create in the local document library
- purchase entitlement state needed to unlock Pro features
- limited widget configuration shared through Apple App Group between the main App and Home Screen widgets
This information stays on your device and is not transmitted to developer servers. You can remove most local App data from the in-app storage screen or by deleting the App. Exported images or PDFs may remain in your Photos library or Files if you saved them there.
7. Home Screen Widgets
If you add Doc Copy widgets, the main App and widgets may use Apple App Group storage on your device to share non-sensitive configuration such as recent document metadata needed for quick entry. This data does not leave your device and is not uploaded to developer servers.
8. Free Trials and In-App Purchases
Doc Copy offers limited free PDF exports so you can test real workflows before upgrading. After the free trial allowance is used, unlimited exports require Doc Copy Pro, an optional one-time, non-consumable in-app purchase (product ID: com.nickgao.fuyinen.upgrade) processed by Apple through StoreKit.
Apple handles payment, taxes, refunds, and transaction records. We do not receive or store your credit card number, full billing details, Apple ID password, or Apple ID credentials. The App may also recognize certain legacy purchase IDs so existing customers can restore prior Pro access.
For refunds or billing issues, please use Apple standard App Store support channels.
9. Third-Party Services, Advertising, and Tracking
The App does not include third-party advertising SDKs, third-party analytics SDKs, social login SDKs, or cross-app tracking tools.
According to our App Store privacy label and privacy manifest, the App does not track you across apps or websites owned by other companies.
If you tap a link that opens the App Store, Apple Photos, Files, Mail, Safari, or another Apple system feature, that external service is governed by Apple's or the third party's own policies.
10. Sharing, Sale, and Disclosure
Because we do not collect personal data through the App, we do not sell or share personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising or profiling.
We may disclose information only if:
- you voluntarily send it to us, for example in a support email,
- we need it to respond to your support request, or
- disclosure is required by applicable law, regulation, legal process, or governmental request.
When you use the system Share sheet, AirDrop, email, or another app to send a PDF, you choose what leaves the App. The receiving service handles that content under its own policies.
11. International Users
The App is designed to process content locally on your device. Because we do not collect personal data through the App, there is no routine transfer of your documents or personal information to developer servers in other countries.
If you contact us by email, your message may be stored on the email systems you and we use to communicate.
12. Children's Privacy
The App is intended for a general audience. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13 through the App. If you believe a child has sent us personal information by email, contact us and we will take reasonable steps to delete it.
13. Your Choices and Rights
- Deny or revoke Camera and Photos permissions in iOS Settings.
- Delete local App data from the in-app storage screen or by removing the App from your device.
- Delete exported photos or PDFs from Photos or Files at any time.
- Contact us to request deletion of information you previously sent by email.
Depending on where you live, you may have additional privacy rights under laws such as GDPR or CCPA. Because the App does not collect personal data for routine operation, many data-access requests may not apply. We will still try to help with reasonable requests related to support correspondence.
14. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy when the App changes, when our practices change, or when legal requirements change. The effective date at the top of this page shows the latest version. Continued use of the App after an update means you accept the revised policy.
Terms of use are available at Doc Copy Terms of Use.
